Game Industry Hoping GTA 6 Will Be Priced at $100

Published: Today at 3:55 PM

It appears that various companies within the gaming industry are secretly hoping that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be priced at $100.

This insight comes from Matthew Ball, an analyst at Epyllion, in his State of Video Gaming in 2025 report. As the cost of developing games continues to rise, many gaming companies are eager to increase game prices. However, taking that first bold step is a daunting challenge.

According to Ball, many companies hope that Take-Two Interactive will take the lead by pricing GTA 6 at $100. If the game still sells well at this price point, it would pave the way for the rest of the industry to justify similar price increases.

Whether GTA 6 will actually carry a $100 price tag remains uncertain. Aside from a confirmed release year and its first trailer, little else is known about the game beyond the usual rumors. GTA 6 is scheduled for release in 2025 and will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
