The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered might be dropping this Monday, April 21st.

While Bethesda hasn't officially announced the game yet, the title and some early screenshots leaked just yesterday. There were already whispers going around that a surprise launch was coming sometime this week—but now it looks like we’ve got an exact release date.

A user on X, Ser_Raven18, shared a screenshot of a conversation with Xbox Support (as spotted by Insider Gaming). When asked about Oblivion Remastered, Xbox Support straight-up replied that it’s set to launch on April 21, 2025. They also mentioned it’ll be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, and even accessible through cloud gaming.

Rumor has it that the remaster is running on Unreal Engine 5. Six core systems are reportedly being reworked: stamina, sneak, archery, hit reactions, blocking, and the user interface. The stamina system, for example, is supposed to be less punishing—so you won’t be constantly stuck in place when it runs out. And the UI is said to be getting a complete visual overhaul.

Combat is also getting some love, with clearer visual effects when players or NPCs get hit. Word on the street is that development is being handled by Virtuos, the same studio working on the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake. Oblivion Remastered is expected to release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
